Michael Vargo

Meet Michael Vargo, an experienced leader with a rich history of success in growing Part 135 Operators within the aviation industry. With a career spanning 22 years, Michael's journey from a Flight Instructor to the CEO of BellAir has been marked by his unwavering dedication and diverse background.

 

As a devoted parent of two young boys, he brings compassion and empathy to the workplace, creating a positive and supportive environment.
 
Before finding his calling in aviation, Michael navigated through various odd jobs, ranging from
warehouse work and janitorial duties to fast-food restaurants. This early experience instilled in him a strong work ethic and resilience that would later become defining traits in his aviation career.
 
Michael's passion for aviation took root in Florida, where he embarked on his aviation career after moving from his hometown in Northeast Ohio. In 2004, Michael found his way to North Carolina, where he started teaching as a Flight Instructor. Michael has occupied diverse roles, encompassing both flying and leadership positions within a Part 135 Operation, highlighting his thorough comprehension of the aviation industry.
 
Beyond the cockpit, Crossfit has become a significant part of Michael's life. The discipline,
determination and grit instilled by this fitness regimen have seamlessly translated into every facet of his personal and professional life.
 
Michael's list of achievements is impressive, boasting five type ratings, 8,500 hours of flight time, and having flown around the world twice, visiting 84 countries. His journey with Mountain Aviation began as Chief Pilot, and through hard work and dedication, he ascended to the role of General Manager. Under his leadership, the business experienced remarkable growth, increasing revenue from $25 MM to $250 MM at its peak. Michael played a pivotal role in the sale of Mountain Aviation in January 2021, showcasing his strategic acumen.
 
Currently serving as the CEO at BellAir, Michael's focus is on establishing a clear pathway for sustainable business growth while ensuring profitability. His leadership philosophy is rooted in core values such as integrity, adaptability, discipline, authenticity, and collectivism.
 
A testament to Michael's adventurous spirit and teamwork, he was part of a record-setting team in 2007 that connected 100 parachutists under canopy, showcasing his ability to collaborate and achieve extraordinary feats.
 
In essence, Michael embodies a leader who has risen through the ranks, bringing a unique blend of aviation expertise, diverse experiences, and a commitment to values that guide his strategic vision for the future of BellAir.
